M-S school board candidate profile series: Jason Tompkins

'It's like kid heaven': Grace Church's Harvest Party puts family fun on display

Families with children of all ages gathered at Grace Church last Friday for the church's annual Harvest Party.

Activities included trick-or-treating, bounce houses, a magic show, a photo booth, raffle and guessing games, a cupcake walk and carnival games.

Mike Case, Grace Church's family life pastor, emphasized the event was free and open to everyone in the community.

School district, village to honor hometown hero Jason Seaman at Dawgapalooza

MAHOMET — Jason Seaman will be honored next week on the field he starred on during his years on the Mahomet-Seymour football team.

The seventh-grade science teacher credited with stopping a shooter at Indiana's Noblesville West Middle School will be honored Aug. 31 prior to kickoff at Frank Dutton Field.

Mahomet area residents voice concerns to Mahomet Aquifer Protection Task Force

Jodi Eisenmann held a bottle of water up to members of the Mahomet Aquifer Protection Task Force as she described the reality of daily living after a natural gas leak near the Mahomet Aquifer in December 2016.

"We get water delivered every Tuesday," she said.


'Thank you to the best community': Jason Seaman's parents give thanks for support

At 9:06 a.m. on May 25, an armed student entered my son's classroom in Noblesville, Ind., and opened fire. Amazingly, there were no fatalities.

However, another student and my son were struck numerous times. Thankfully, both are recovering, but the injured student will have an extended hospital stay.
