Mahomet Public Library's Valentine Bingo event will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14. Local residents can compete for prizes donated by local merchants, as well as sample sweet treats in honor of the holiday.

The Mahomet Area Chamber of Commerce is inviting local women to their annual "Steppin' Out...Ladies' Night Out."
Organizer Theresa Berry said that the event has been steadily growing over the past three years. In the first year, 100 women attended—and attendance more than doubled to 250 in the following year. This year, they're hoping for an even bigger turnout.

If you want to take part in this spring's Community-Wide Garage Sale, time is running out. The deadline for inclusion in the Citizen's comprehensive guide to the weekend's best sales is noon on Thursday, April 12.
The sale is scheduled for April 19, 20 and 21.
