Jones retires after 17 years with M-S softball

For the past three years, Mark Jones has been pulled in two directions.

Jones, who has been farming with his father since he was 21, has commitments to the farm and his family.


Softball takes on PC, Pontiac

The Mahomet-Seymour varsity softball team dropped Corn Belt Conference games against Pontiac and Prairie Central this past week.

Against Pontiac, the Bulldogs scored two runs in the seventh inning but it was not enough in the 7-5 loss Thursday.


Alumni reunite for softball game

The Mahomet-Seymour softball team celebrated its 41st year as a program with alumni softball events Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7.


Back-to-back-to-back for Bulldogs

The Bulldog softball team hosted back-to-back-to-back games this past week, winning two and losing one.

Mahomet-Seymour defeated Bloomington Central Catholic (BCC) and Pontiac but lost to Tri Valley. 


'Our love for the game is infinite'

The Mahomet-Seymour softball team will be celebrating its 41st year as a program with alumni softball events Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7.

On June 6, former players will get together at the High School about 5 p.m. to visit and catch up with one another.


50-50 week for Bulldogs

The softball team finished with a 2-2 record this week with wins over Champaign Centennial and Prairie Central and losses to Salt Fork and St. Joseph-Ogden.

On Monday, the Bulldogs hosted Champaign Centennial and scored eleven runs in the fourth inning to take a fourteen-run lead for a 15-1 victory.

M-S drops slugfest with Monticello

Monticello rattled the bats for 17 hits as the Sages raced to a 17-9 win over Mahomet-Seymour on March 31 in Mahomet.

The Sages jumped on top early with six first-inning runs and two more in the second to lead 8-0.
