Looking ahead: Bulldogs beat Urbana, lose two against Mount Zion

M-S looks to rebound in Saturday's doubleheader after dropping pair of games at Mount Zion

The Mahomet-Seymour softball team defeated Urbana last Wednesday, but was swept in a doubleheader in Mount Zion on Tuesday afternoon.

 

Mount Zion 9, M-S 8 (first game). To start the doubleheader against Mount Zion, the Bulldogs lost the first game by one run.

Bulldogs rebound from opening-game loss with three straight wins

After losing the first game of the year to Herscher, the Mahomet-Seymour softball team has rattled off three straight wins, including a doubleheader sweep at Lincoln last Saturday.

"Our last three wins were great team wins," M-S coach Lisa Ayers said. "I am really happy with our batting lineup at the moment."


Softball opens with double-header

The Mahomet-Seymour softball team split its first two games of the season in a doubleheader Saturday.

The Bulldogs defeated Champaign Central in the afternoon game and lost to Taylorville in the morning game.

Jones, who has been farming with his father since he was 21, has commitments to the farm and his family.


Softball takes on PC, Pontiac

The Mahomet-Seymour varsity softball team dropped Corn Belt Conference games against Pontiac and Prairie Central this past week.

Against Pontiac, the Bulldogs scored two runs in the seventh inning but it was not enough in the 7-5 loss Thursday.

Back-to-back-to-back for Bulldogs

The Bulldog softball team hosted back-to-back-to-back games this past week, winning two and losing one.

Mahomet-Seymour defeated Bloomington Central Catholic (BCC) and Pontiac but lost to Tri Valley. 


'Our love for the game is infinite'

The Mahomet-Seymour softball team will be celebrating its 41st year as a program with alumni softball events Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7.

On June 6, former players will get together at the High School about 5 p.m. to visit and catch up with one another.


50-50 week for Bulldogs

The softball team finished with a 2-2 record this week with wins over Champaign Centennial and Prairie Central and losses to Salt Fork and St. Joseph-Ogden.

On Monday, the Bulldogs hosted Champaign Centennial and scored eleven runs in the fourth inning to take a fourteen-run lead for a 15-1 victory.
