Former Pickle Tree getting new occupants

The former Pickle Tree Farm Restaurant site will soon become a one-stop shop for pets needing daycare, grooming, or routine healthcare services.

Later this spring, Dr. Joella Koss will move her Mahomet veterinary practice into the former restaurant building. Koss and her clinic, All About Animals Pet Clinic, will continue offering routine pet care, and will add such services as doggy daycare, on-site grooming, retail pet products, and boarding.

Koss said she purchased the building at 305 S. Prairieview Rd. on January 31, 2012. Koss’ current location at 2012 Tin Cup Rd. only offers 1,100 square feet of space, as the new Prairiview Rd. site will offer 8,000 square feet for the animal clinic. She hopes to have the new clinic opened by May 1.

When Koss bought and opened her clinic in its current location in June 2012, she knew then that hopefully one day she would be able to expand to a bigger space. “When we bought this building, just driving by the Pickle Tree building everyday on the way to work I would think, man, that would make a really awesome vet clinic,” Koss said.
