Fifth-seeded Bulldog softball beat fourth-seeded Rantoul 13-4 in the Corn Belt Tournament May 3 at Normal's Champion Fields, getting revenge on the Eagles from a 13-12 loss earlier in the season. Mahomet (19-9, 4-4) moves on to meet top seed and host Normal University May 5 at 10 a.m.
Junior varsity also won 12-5 in five innings against Prairie Central. Freshman Madison O'Donnell earned the win. JV (11-9) too plays U-High May 5 at 11:30 a.m.
