Seventh-graders fall in regional championship

The Mahomet-Seymour seventh-grade volleyball team lost its regional championship game (25-19, 25-10) to the Comets of Champaign Edison Middle School at J. W. Eater Junior High School in Rantoul Wednesday night.

The seventh-grade team’s season ended with an overall record of 8-16.

To reach the regional championship, the Bulldogs (No. 3-seeded) defeated the Jaguars of Champaign Jefferson Middle School. MSJH took the first set 25-19 but lost the second set 25-13. The Bulldogs came back in the third set 25-18 to win the match and upset the second-seeded Jaguars.
