MAHOMET -- The public is being asked to help fill a shortfall at a local charitable organization of one of the basics of daily life: toilet paper.
According to Jackie Butler of "It Takes A Village," a shortage of toilet tissue has forced the group to now offer only two rolls per family per month.
The organization's mission is to furnish, at no charge, simple household items such as clothing and hygiene basics for people in need.
It Takes A Village is teaming up with the Mahomet Area Chamber of Commerce to encourage the public to offer toilet paper donations as soon as possible. People are asked to drop off mega rolls of toilet tissue through Wednesday, April 3, at the Chamber office, 512 E. Main St. It Takes A Village is located at 601 Main St., Suite 107.
Brands such as Scotts, Charmin and Cottonelle are requested.
