MAHOMET -- Tuesday's regular village board meeting will be held at the Cornbelt Fire District Training Center, 506 E. Main St., according to village officials.

An agenda sent out Friday (March 22) notes that the 6 p.m. session will not be at the village hall but across the street at the fire protection district facility instead.

The usual meeting site in the village hall was overflowing with audience members Tuesday, March 19, for a study session that focused on plans to annex Briarcliff, Summit Ridge and areas of Lakeview subdivisions. Numerous people spoke up against the annexations.

At that meeting, led by village President Sean Widener, trustees present agreed in an unofficial vote to postpone planned action for this coming Tuesday on the annexations. The subject is expected to be tabled Tuesday, Widener said.

The Friday (March 22) memo also noted that the next full village board meeting, set for April 23, also will be relocated to the Cornbelt fire squad facility.
