MAHOMET — Mahomet-Seymour school district officials reported a needle was found in a piece of candy at one of its schools on Monday, but an investigation has found no danger to students.
According to a press release, the needle was found in a “fun size” piece of candy that a student brought to Lincoln Trail Elementary. A Tuesday media statement with updated information said an investigation found there is no continuing threat or danger to other students. Officials have identified the source of the needle, and it was not obtained while trick or treating, the press release stated.
