CHAMPAIGN — Robert Franklin Adams, age 83, passed away on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, in Northwest Heart and Vascular Institute in Margate, Fla., where he had been a patient since late November.
Bob was born April 20, 1935, a son of Frank Morris Adams and DeEtte Schaede Adams. He married Kay Robinson in 1957; they divorced in 1993. He is survived by his partner, Stephen Robert Ellis, originally from London, England.
Also surviving are his sons, Gregory Allan Adams of Mahomet, Kevin Scott Adams (Brenda) of Savoy and Ryan Andrew Adams (Molley) of Greensboro, N.C.; daughter, Juliette Kay Adams of Greensboro, N.C.; sister, Sandra Adams Kortkamp (Gary) of Rockford; sister-in-law, Carolyn Miner Adams of Chicago; grandchildren, Monica Adams, Amy Adams Windle, Errick Adams, Dakota Adams Clark (Jason), Ethan Adams, Ashley Adams, Amber Adams Ruedi (David), Aubrey Adams, Grant Welton and Grayson Welton; great-grandchildren; Coby Windle, Leona Rodriguez and Rocco Clark; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by his parents; infant daughter, Amy Elizabeth; brother, Richard Russell Adams; and grandparents, Samuel Pearl “Pete” Adams and Rozella Adams, Albert Louis Schaede and Harriet Schaede.
A celebration of life will be on Saturday, April 20, at the Lakehouse at Crystal Lake Park in Urbana. This would have been Bob’s 84th birthday, so a perfect day to honor him. His family will be receiving guests from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
