MAHOMET — The combination of Maddy Wade and Cayla Koerner continues to impress. The Mahomet-Seymour girls’ soccer team destroyed Lincoln and beat Mattoon in a rain-shortened contest. The perfect week improved M-S’ record to 18-1.

M-S 9, Lincoln 0. Wade was all over the pitch against Lincoln, racking up two goals and dishing out three assists as the Bulldogs leveled Lincoln 9-0. Koerner added two goals and two assists, and Mackenzie Moore also scored twice. Brooke Benson had one goal and one assist. Brea Benson and Grace Lietz also cracked the scoring column. Haley Lester continued her unselfish play with two assists.

M-S 4, Mattoon 0. The combination of Wade and Koerner came up clutch on Tuesday night. Each scored two goals and Koerner set up Wade’s first goal of the night as M-S cruised past Mattoon 4-0. Bailey had two saves.

M-S played Morton on Thursday, but results weren’t available at press time.

Looking ahead

The Bulldogs will compete in their final home games of the season next week. On Tuesday, M-S will host Mt. Zion at Middletown Field at 6:30 p.m. On Thursday, M-S will tangle with Normal University High at 6:30 p.m. at Middletown Field.
