MAHOMET — Rob Ledin’s crew is absolutely dominating right now. The Mahomet-Seymour wrestling team improved to 14-0 in team duals after a great showing at the M-S multi-duals.

M-S 76, Olney Richland County 3

M-S rolled to a 76-3 victory over Olney Richland County in the first match of their multi-duals. Logan Petro, Chance Decker, Gage Granadino, Mateo Casillas, Daniel Renshaw, Seth Buchanan and Braeden Heinold all had pins. Noah Schnepper was a 12-4 major decision winner at 126 pounds. Casillas had the fastest pin of the match, registering the takedown in just 65 seconds.

M-S 57, Westville 22

Decker set the tone with a 22-second pin of Westville’s Logan Koontz, as M-S dominated the Tigers 57-22. Buchanan had a 36-second pin, and Granadino got in on the fun with a 59-second pin. Petro, Heinold and Payton Ragona all had pins in less than a minute too. Renshaw was also a winner for the Bulldogs.

M-S 68, Lawrenceville 9

Buchanan, Decker and Granadino all picked up their third pins of the day in a big 68-9 win over Lawrenceville. Caden Hatton, Caleb Dowers and Ragona were also big winners in the romp.

M-S 45, Cumberland 19

Casillas, Hatton and Heinold all picked up pins, while Decker added a 13-9 decision victory, as M-S improved to 4-0 on the day with a 45-19 victory. Heinold’s pin was in just 90 seconds over Cumberland’s Blayne Donsbach. The 132-pound underclassman has been a real brights spot this season for the Bulldogs.

M-S 49, Leroy 24

Make it 5-for-5. Leroy was no match for the Bulldogs in the final dual of the day. Casillas pinned Tucker Sheperd in 2:50 at 195. Buchanan earned his fourth pin of the day with a 38-second takedown of August Osborn. Ragona, Decker and Granadino also had big-time pins in the 49-24 victory. Renshaw continued his strong day with a 4-2 victory over Darek Wiggins. Heinold had a 14-2 major decision win over Ethan Conaty.

Looking ahead

M-S will battle Sterling on Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. The varsity squad will head to the Sycamore Invitational on Jan. 11 at 9 a.m. Meanwhile, the junior varsity team will compete in the Mattoon Junior Varsity Invitational at 10 a.m. on Jan. 11.

M-S will battle in the Apollo Conference Week One Wrestling Week at Effingham at 6 p.m. on Jan. 16.
